The inland end of the Bald Hills ridge rises to Schoolhouse Peak, then drops off into the complex canyons of the Klamath River. Opposite the peak an old ranch road heads south and curves around the slope above Redwood Creek to the old Lyons Ranch. This high open country is a delightful contrast to the deep forest elsewhere in the Redwood Creek area.
