Shasta Valley, between Mount Shasta and the Klamath River, is dotted with innumerable cinder cones and small lava flows. Most of it is ranchland or irrigated pasture, with recreational development at Lake Shastina. Views of the north side of Mount Shasta are spectacular, especially in winter and spring.
