The Trinity River, main tributary of the Klamath, runs south, then west, and finally north again, circling around the high massif of the Trinity Alps.
In between rugged canyon stretches are a few flat spots. The town of Willow Creek celebrates Bigfoot, famously filmed on nearby Bluff Creek in 1967. Hoopa Valley is a large Indian Reservation where several tribes were relocated from their native areas.
