Virtual Guidebook to Lassen Volcanic National Park and the Modoc Plateau
Lassen Park Road - Summit
Lassen Volcanic National Park California

Lassen Park Road climbs high over the southeast shoulder of the peak, almost to timberline, in an area that has recorded some of the heaviest snowfalls on earth.

Near the road summit is a parking area for the trail to the summit of Lassen Peak. It is a steady uphill grind on an excellent trail, though snow often lingers through July. The view from the top includes much of the northern part of California: the Sacramento Valley, North Coast Ranges, Trinity Alps, Mount Shasta, Modoc Plateau, and Lake Almanor.
