Spring Mountains west of Las Vegas Nevada
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area protects the Calico Hills and and Sandstone Bluffs areas of the Spring Mountains. It is operated by the BLM as something like a state park. Given its spectacular scenery and location on the outskirts of Las Vegas it is a very popular place.
