Pioche
On Highway 93, Nevada
An inhabited ghost town, Pioche has a small historic downtown, the amazing-but-true Million Dollar Courthouse, a straggle of small houses and miners shacks, and abundant evidence of a century of mining. There is nothing much going on these days - the smelter is abandoned and the mines closed, but the bucket tramway wires still stretch cross the highway and town.
