Laughlin
on the Colorado River Nevada
Founded in 1964, Laughlin is the most recent of the major gambling centers in Nevada, sort of a miniature Las Vegas on the Colorado River. There is no town to speak of, just a row of big hotel casinos along the riverbank. Until the 1980's there was no bridge across the Colorado here. Since most of the Laughlin workforce live across the river in Bullhead City, Arizona they commuted to work on a flotilla of small ferries.
