Lake Mohave
on the Colorado River between Hoover Dam and Laughlin Nevada
Davis Dam on the Colorado River at Laughlin creates Lake Mohave, surrounded by an extension of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. There are few paved roads and much of the area is federal wilderness. Grapevine Canyon in the Newberry Mountains is an exceptional backcountry drive, conveniently close to Laughlin.
