Lone Pine Press Plant Guides
Canada is fortunate to have the dedicated team of botanists who have put together this series of books. Each guide covers a geographic region and provides a detailed description of the plant life, from trees and shrubs to lichens and mosses. Every species has one or two clear photographs and a full description. One unusual feature is the very detailed accounts of traditional native uses for each plant (and almost every plant seems to have been used). They are very useful as field guides and the flexible water-resistant covers holds up in the often soggy conditions of the northwest.
My only complaint is that there are too few maps, just one (ridiculously) small overall vegetation type map in the beginning (except for Plants of the Northwest Coast, which has a map for each species).
